Reflection:

Discuss your observations from the previous investigation in your small group. Did the number of paperclips affect the way the paper airplanes flew? Why do you think the students observed what they did? Use evidence to support what you are saying during the discussion.

Internet Info Search

Today you will research to learn about the four forces that affect how a paper airplane flies. Use the reflection template to evaluate your websites. 

Journal Entry

Evaluate at least 3 websites for validity and usefulness and summarize what you have learned using the google template Links to an external site.. (do not edit the document put the information in your journal)

Write in your science notebook about what you have learned about the four forces:

What are they?

How do they each affect flight?

Review

Go back to your two previous experiences with paper airplanes and describe the flight of the airplane using the terms drag, lift, thrust, and gravity.

Explain what the term aerodynamics means.

Reflection

Discuss the websites in pairs when you are both finished with your journal entry and internet search.
