To begin studying for the unit quiz next week, you are going to make a word web. The idea is to start with a central topic or theme and make connections. Along the connects, write how the two words are related. Blank paper is up front with the pencils, crayons, and markers.
Please see these examples.
For each term below, list the word, include a definition, and at least two connections to two separate words.
1. Terms:
Ancient Astronomy | Ancient Cultures | Ancient Astronomers | Celestial Sphere | Astrology | Constellation(s) |
Ecliptic | 4 Seasons | Celestial Equator | North/South Ecliptic Pole | Zodiac | Ancient Cosmology |
Ophiuchus | Heliocentric | Geocentric | Kepler's Laws | Telescopes | Lenses |
2. In addition to the terms above, you should also include 2 astronomers that supported the heliocentric and geocentric models (4 total).
Paper and colored pencils will be available for you at the front station.
Please keep your papers for use tomorrow.
